Review: Sony Playstation Network Card - $50 [Online Game Code]
Review: Sony Playstation Network Card - $50 [Online Game Code] |
Sony Playstation Network Card - $50 [Online Game Code] Posted: This is a awesome feature. You purchase it and are given the code immediately so that you do not have to wait for anything. Which is the same as if you did it through the PSN network or went to a store and purchased a card. I love this new option because I sell my old games back to amazon, and now with the credits they give me I can either buy new games or put it on my PSN account. This is GREAT! |

Review: MediEvil
Review: MediEvil |
Posted: This game is incredible. It is so much fun to play and has wonderful graphics and a great story line. Of all the RPG's I have purchased, I have yet to find one which I like and enjoy as much as Medievil. I reccomend this game to anyone who enjoys RPG's. I enjoyed this game so much that I was actually sad when I finally beat the game. The mixture of fighting and puzzle solving is one aspect that makes this game so much fun. There are many hidden clues and "secret" areas to uncover, so that when you replay the game you always find something that you had not found the first time you played it. I hope there is going to be a sequel because it certainly deserves one. This is the greatest game I have ever played and I wish I could find another like it. |

Review: Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
Review: Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage |
Posted: I was a little surprised by the earlier negative review based on how easy this game was. The thing I found best about it was that the difficulty is completely variable. Each world/level has many optional tasks that you can choose to perform or to skip. I can see that you could hurry through by doing just the minimum for each level but where's the fun in that? It is a marvellous antedote for the rest of the tacky, poorly conceived games that I have rented for my 7 year old daughter and is the ONLY one I have had any interest in playing myself. This one is definately on the Christmas list |

Review: Road Rash
Review: Road Rash |
Posted: I lost my Sega a yr ago (Sniff...) and I wanted RR and I could'nt get it cause I had nothing to play it on. So I was strolling through Babbages one day and I see RR. I think to myself: could this be it? And I bought it without knowing what I was getting myself into. The next month I spent with my PS1 are days I will never forget. It was just as I had remembered it. Not a sprite out of place and the game seemed to play faster on the PS1. Now I have another Sega, but anytime I want to go down memory lane with some classic RR, I bust out my PS1 and let the good times roll...and I bust some heads while I'm at it. |

Review: Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy
Review: Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy |
Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy Posted: I just gave this to my 6 year old, who is a big fan of LBP. He was very excited about getting Sackboy and has been mimicking the gameplay with him. The material is great and really looks like the Sackboy. The zipper is plastic and does not zip, but it doesn't feel cheap either. Very high quality. Here's what I'd improve though: His face. It looks just like the picture shown in amazon's description. That's NOT quite a perfect match to the actual game itself. The eyes are a bit high, and his smile / mouth isn't quite right. I was a little dissapointed they didn't it make it more accurate for an 'official' product, but my 6 year old didn't seem to notice or care. He still oves his Sackboy. If you have a kid (or adult) that plays and creates in the LBP universe, he/she will love this. |

Review: Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
Review: Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention |
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention Posted: If you like RPGs or just plain good quality and deep gameplay, along with an awesomely entertaining story, this is the game for you. I already own Disgae 3 for my PS3 but these types of games are much better suited for portable play IMO, so dont miss out on it. The game initially may seem a bit daunting because of all the terms and stats you need to keep track off, along with the voting system on the school board, but you can easily ignore most of that and just play it at your own pace. You can either plow throught the amazing and funny story in 20-30 hours or spend 200 hours maxing your party and grinding the item world to buff up all your gear, it really has something for everyone (provided of course you like strategy rpgs or at least rpgs in general). Have fun and dont let your dad step on your SlayStation portable and lose the 1 million hours of gaming you put into it! |

Review: PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller
Review: PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller |
PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller Posted: The Playstation 2's highly regarded DualShock 2 controller was considered by many to be the best videogame controller of all time. So when you've got a winning design there's no need to change anything. However, because of a legal battle with Immersion over rumble technology, Sony was forced to offer their Sixaxis controller without rumble. The Sixaxis had the same Dualshock design but it felt too lightweight and cheap. Thankfully the lawsuit has been settled and rumble has come back to the Playstation. For the most part, the DualShock 3 is almost identical to its PS2 precessor. But it has all the features of the original Sixaxis controller in addition to rumble. The controller is still wireless, can be charged by plugging it into your PS3 (or PC), rumble is compatible with all PS1 and PS2 games, and the PS3 supports up to 7 controllers at the same time via bluetooth. Rumble in the DualShock 3 seems more responsive in regards to the location of its vibration depending on which side you get hit on during the games. I don't know if this is something in the design or if it's the developers doing it for the games but I welcome it. All in all this is currently the best designed controller on the market right now. The PS2's DS2 was incredible so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. I'll be enjoying rumble in my PS3 games from now on. |

Review: Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy
Review: Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy |
Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy Posted: We've seen all shapes, sizes, materials, both official and custom made, but this is it! 6 inches tall, correct proportions, eye placement, head shape, and best of all, it looks hand-made! It has reliable machine-stitching, but also has yarn stitching for the hand-made aesthetic. It looks just like the game character. I've seen a couple of costumed versions, as well as this naked one, available at GameStop. This is the one they should continue to make! I hope these fly off the shelves, so to speak, so they know that this is the one we want them to make. They need to come out with more skin colors, fabrics, clothing, and accessories for us, so we can personalize our Sackboys and Sackgirls!. (I keep saying "they", but I don't know who "they" are! The tag says "PS Officially Licensed Product", so I'd assume Sony?) Only changes I'd suggest are as follows: 1. The zipper is made of dull plastic and doesn't actually "zip" up and down. I realize this isn't exactly necessary, but it would be nice if it was shiny plastic (or metal) and perhaps a real zipper. It doesn't need to unzip to reveal stuffing (that could get messy,) it's just that a working zipper would be very satisfying. 2. The arms and legs should swivel. It can't be very difficult to have the arms swivel at the shoulder, and the legs swivel at the hips, can it? Lots of plush toys do that (I don't know exactly how the mechanics work.) This would allow us to put them in a sitting position, or have them lift their arms up in celebration! Overall, great product. Go for it! |

Review: Final Fantasy VIII
Review: Final Fantasy VIII |
Posted: Final Fantasy VIII, the second installment of the Final Fantasy series on the Playstation is a game with outstanding graphics,an original storyline, great character design, and more. You are Squall Leonhart, a SeeD of the Balamb Garden Military Academy.SeeD is a codename for Balambs elite mercenary soliders. Balamb was created in order to train soliders to battle against an evil sorceress trapped in the future. Squall and his comrades go on a mission once they become SeeDs and then the little problem they were sent to solve turns big. They get caught up in a mess and the time has come to fight the evil sorceress from the future. There are many twists in the game and many side quests which makes the game more interesting.Personally, I love the Real-Time graphics done by Akira Fujii, who also worked on Final Fantasy IX. The music is great and it will capture the player in battle sequences. Theres much to say about this game, but I cant give everything away. This game is definetly worth a buy. |
