This is a awesome feature. You purchase it and are given the code immediately so that you do not have to wait for anything. Which is the same as if you did it through the PSN network or went to a store and purchased a card. I love this new option because I sell my old games back to amazon, and now with the credits they give me I can either buy new games or put it on my PSN account. This is GREAT!

This game is incredible. It is so much fun to play and has wonderful graphics and a great story line. Of all the RPG's I have purchased, I have yet to find one which I like and enjoy as much as Medievil. I reccomend this game to anyone who enjoys RPG's. I enjoyed this game so much that I was actually sad when I finally beat the game. The mixture of fighting and puzzle solving is one aspect that makes this game so much fun. There are many hidden clues and "secret" areas to uncover, so that when you replay the game you always find something that you had not found the first time you played it. I hope there is going to be a sequel because it certainly deserves one. This is the greatest game I have ever played and I wish I could find another like it.

I was a little surprised by the earlier negative review based on how easy this game was. The thing I found best about it was that the difficulty is completely variable. Each world/level has many optional tasks that you can choose to perform or to skip. I can see that you could hurry through by doing just the minimum for each level but where's the fun in that? It is a marvellous antedote for the rest of the tacky, poorly conceived games that I have rented for my 7 year old daughter and is the ONLY one I have had any interest in playing myself. This one is definately on the Christmas list

I lost my Sega a yr ago (Sniff...) and I wanted RR and I could'nt get it cause I had nothing to play it on. So I was strolling through Babbages one day and I see RR. I think to myself: could this be it? And I bought it without knowing what I was getting myself into. The next month I spent with my PS1 are days I will never forget. It was just as I had remembered it. Not a sprite out of place and the game seemed to play faster on the PS1. Now I have another Sega, but anytime I want to go down memory lane with some classic RR, I bust out my PS1 and let the good times roll...and I bust some heads while I'm at it.

I just gave this to my 6 year old, who is a big fan of LBP. He was very excited about getting Sackboy and has been mimicking the gameplay with him.

The material is great and really looks like the Sackboy. The zipper is plastic and does not zip, but it doesn't feel cheap either. Very high quality.

Here's what I'd improve though: His face. It looks just like the picture shown in amazon's description. That's NOT quite a perfect match to the actual game itself. The eyes are a bit high, and his smile / mouth isn't quite right. I was a little dissapointed they didn't it make it more accurate for an 'official' product, but my 6 year old didn't seem to notice or care. He still oves his Sackboy.

If you have a kid (or adult) that plays and creates in the LBP universe, he/she will love this.

Legend Of Legaia (Video Game)
By Sony

I was very surprised with Legend of Legaia when I first played it. Although the basic RPG formula is still basically intact, there are a few radically innovative bits that seem to work quite well.

Take for example the amazing battle engine: while turn-based at its core, each character's basic attack is instead a series of kicks and punches that YOU enter (at the beginning of each round). Specific sequences of kicks and punches unlock "Arts" - combos that you can perform at any point in the game. Furthermore, you can chain Arts in combat if they share their first and last moves, and, what's best, you can perform any Art at any given time, giving you total freedom in combat. Most Arts are learned through experimentation, while a few are taught to you by a variety of casual mentors. To save you the trouble of writing the arts down, the game keeps track of the ones you learned in notes that can be called up either through the status menus or directly in combat. Magic in Legend of Legaia is all summoning. During combat you have the chance of absorbing the powers of a variety of enchanted monsters, and thereupon summoning them to cast spells. If you summon the creature frequently, it will increase in level, making the spell it produces more efficient and perhaps even add a side effect.

Seems as though Sony threw this amazing thing in and then forgot to capitalize on it. Makes me wonder why they capitalized on the far more restrictive battle engine in Legend of Dragoon.

Graphically, Legend of Legaia isn't much to look at (or listen to), with ungainly polygonal surroundings and fully polygonal characters who look like blocks on a string. Thankfully, in combat the characters are realistically proportioned and animate realistically.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (Video Game)
By Electronic Arts

We'll begin this review with a bit of a disclaimer. I play a very popular online golf game quite frequently, so while I've never played a Tiger Woods game before this I do know what I like in Golf Games.

Pros:

I love the different camera options. You can choose between True Aim (which seems to be kind of like "hard mode" to me), a follow the ball Camera angle that is more well known to people who play the Golf Games I do, and a mode that I like to call "TV mode" because it kind of looks like a camera panning from player level to follow the ball from the sidelines. I really love options and that is more viewing options than most games give you.

There are, to my knowledge, two different swinging modes. The stick swing mode, which I like to call "%!@#$" because that's what I scream each time I use it, and the much more user friendly and certainly proven system of "3-clicks". You can toggle that on by hitting the R3 key and I did so immediately. My shot accuracy increased dramatically and I found myself much happier. About my only complaint with 3-clicks, is that if I decide I've got the wrong strength I, again to my knowledge, cannot cancel it and have to just go with what I've got or it'll auto slice :(. That's a super small problem and it hasn't stopped me from tying Tiger Woods Score on a course this morning which got me excited :D.

The character creation mode is super in depth, I actually gave up on all the sliders. I may take pictures of my own face so I can feel like I'm a part of the game. That is an option for those that didn't know (I sure didn't).

The courses are gorgeous, I have a nice sized television (to me) coming in at 42 inches (or is it 40?), on the TV this game looks great!

If you like RPGs or just plain good quality and deep gameplay, along with an awesomely entertaining story, this is the game for you. I already own Disgae 3 for my PS3 but these types of games are much better suited for portable play IMO, so dont miss out on it.

The game initially may seem a bit daunting because of all the terms and stats you need to keep track off, along with the voting system on the school board, but you can easily ignore most of that and just play it at your own pace.

You can either plow throught the amazing and funny story in 20-30 hours or spend 200 hours maxing your party and grinding the item world to buff up all your gear, it really has something for everyone (provided of course you like strategy rpgs or at least rpgs in general).

Have fun and dont let your dad step on your SlayStation portable and lose the 1 million hours of gaming you put into it!

Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy VII (Video Game)
By SquareSoft

I'm old enough to remember when RPGs weren't called RPGs. In those days the essence of the game was to move the players about a game board, fighting battles, collecting treasure, and finding clues. Origin's Ultima series was the grandparent of these games - immensely entertaining, but essentially two-dimensional. Among its heirs were the first games in the Final Fantasy line.

This was also a time when computer capabilities and capacity seemed to double every few months. Final Fantasy VII is the result of an inevitable synergy between technology and imagination. Players found themselves in a three-dimensional world where they could wander at will. They were playing with characters that were not only more animated and lifelike, but also had something that resembled personalities. In a very real sense, FFVII changed the gaming landscape, and RPGs reached a new level of credibility.

What is inside is the story of Cloud Strife; an ex-soldier turned mercenary who is drawn into the struggle between Avalanche, a revolutionary group, and Shinra, a rapacious company that is rapidly draining the resources of the planet. Starting out in the city Midgar the battle moves back and forth across the planet, as Cloud gathers team members, accessories and power. Everyone has a history, often mysterious, and an important role to play.

Eventually it becomes clear that the real enemy is a laboratory experiment gone horribly wrong. Shinra's effort to produce supermen has created Sephiroth, who has become one of the legendary villains of the gaming world. Physically beautiful, his mind has been ruined by his knowledge of what he is, and his goal has become the destruction of the world.

The plot is remarkably rich.

PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller

PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller (Black) (Video Game)
By Sony Computer Entertainment

The Playstation 2's highly regarded DualShock 2 controller was considered by many to be the best videogame controller of all time. So when you've got a winning design there's no need to change anything. However, because of a legal battle with Immersion over rumble technology, Sony was forced to offer their Sixaxis controller without rumble. The Sixaxis had the same Dualshock design but it felt too lightweight and cheap. Thankfully the lawsuit has been settled and rumble has come back to the Playstation.

For the most part, the DualShock 3 is almost identical to its PS2 precessor. But it has all the features of the original Sixaxis controller in addition to rumble. The controller is still wireless, can be charged by plugging it into your PS3 (or PC), rumble is compatible with all PS1 and PS2 games, and the PS3 supports up to 7 controllers at the same time via bluetooth. Rumble in the DualShock 3 seems more responsive in regards to the location of its vibration depending on which side you get hit on during the games. I don't know if this is something in the design or if it's the developers doing it for the games but I welcome it.

All in all this is currently the best designed controller on the market right now. The PS2's DS2 was incredible so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. I'll be enjoying rumble in my PS3 games from now on.

Original LittleBigPlanet Sackboy (Toy)

We've seen all shapes, sizes, materials, both official and custom made, but this is it! 6 inches tall, correct proportions, eye placement, head shape, and best of all, it looks hand-made! It has reliable machine-stitching, but also has yarn stitching for the hand-made aesthetic. It looks just like the game character. I've seen a couple of costumed versions, as well as this naked one, available at GameStop.

This is the one they should continue to make! I hope these fly off the shelves, so to speak, so they know that this is the one we want them to make. They need to come out with more skin colors, fabrics, clothing, and accessories for us, so we can personalize our Sackboys and Sackgirls!. (I keep saying "they", but I don't know who "they" are! The tag says "PS Officially Licensed Product", so I'd assume Sony?)

Only changes I'd suggest are as follows:

1. The zipper is made of dull plastic and doesn't actually "zip" up and down. I realize this isn't exactly necessary, but it would be nice if it was shiny plastic (or metal) and perhaps a real zipper. It doesn't need to unzip to reveal stuffing (that could get messy,) it's just that a working zipper would be very satisfying.

2. The arms and legs should swivel. It can't be very difficult to have the arms swivel at the shoulder, and the legs swivel at the hips, can it? Lots of plush toys do that (I don't know exactly how the mechanics work.) This would allow us to put them in a sitting position, or have them lift their arms up in celebration!

Overall, great product. Go for it!

Final Fantasy VIII, the second installment of the Final Fantasy series on the Playstation is a game with outstanding graphics,an original storyline, great character design, and more. You are Squall Leonhart, a SeeD of the Balamb Garden Military Academy.SeeD is a codename for Balambs elite mercenary soliders. Balamb was created in order to train soliders to battle against an evil sorceress trapped in the future. Squall and his comrades go on a mission once they become SeeDs and then the little problem they were sent to solve turns big. They get caught up in a mess and the time has come to fight the evil sorceress from the future. There are many twists in the game and many side quests which makes the game more interesting.Personally, I love the Real-Time graphics done by Akira Fujii, who also worked on Final Fantasy IX. The music is great and it will capture the player in battle sequences. Theres much to say about this game, but I cant give everything away. This game is definetly worth a buy.

Final Fantasy VIII (Video Game)
By Square Enix

This is where it begins. Watch closely, people. If you are wise, you are (or will be) playing a game that trancends almost every idea to grace the human mind on creating a videogame masterpiece. Final Fantasy VIII is as such a classic, that if possible, should be displayed in the most important museums in the world. I'm pretty sure most reviewers 'greatly' disagree with me, but then isn't everyone entitled to share their opinion? I respect theirs as I expect mine will be.

What I cannot fathom are the intensely negative reviews coming from the people! How can a game of such caliber, genius, beauty and artisty be seen as "the worst FF ever...and so on"? I simply don't comprehend. Ive heard others like "I like all FF games, 'cept 8", or "It just doesn't belong in the Squaresoft catalogue....". Why? Upon critical analysis, I think it's because people fear change. It's part of human nature. If you adapt to something, why would you want it to change?

I have almost always noticed that some of the 'hardcore fans' proclaim that Square's old style is what should have been on this game - that they miss the old style. NONSENSE! Squaresoft wanted to do something different, temporarily. They wanted to exercise their minds a bit - to stray away from the typical RPG standards. Even possibilities of 'harsh criticism' wasn't going to stop them.....they were going to experiment. You see, even though we have an inner instinct to fear change, the human will to experiment and 'move on' conquers all (look at where experimentation has gotten us: our technology is advancing). There is no such thing as 'the way things (RPGs) ought to be'. There's nothing wrong with prefering things to remain the same, but at least, people should keep their right to experiment.
